Martin Schoeller photographed Orange Is the New Black actress Uzo Aduba for the June 2015 cover of Stylist. The close up of Aduba’s face – with eyes squeezed shut and grin gap-toothed and joyful – is magnetic and jubilant.
This is my favorite magazine cover because of the colors on it. Orange is a bright color and is one of my favorites. I also really like the fonts and I like the contrast between the swirls on "Stylist" and the spikiness of "Crazy talent". The white font on Aduba's face brings out her white teeth as well, which is a signature physical aspect she has; her smile makes me smile as well. I know Aduba is an actress in Orange is the New Black and by recognizing her I become interested in whatever the story might be. The lighting is good and makes Aduba's face recognizable and in focus.
