Self portraits and portraits intro

I did this project before and I think one way I could make my portraits better is by taking a candid shot rather than posing my subject.

1. A self-portrait doesn't have to be of your face—the image of two hands holding a camera says a lot about the photographer who shot his own portrait.

2. Another element of randomness that you can introduce to your portraits is the way that you light them. There are almost unlimited possibilities when it comes to using light in portraits.

3. Frame Your Subject

Environmental portrait:

I chose these photos because I like the colors and the details. I feel like you can connect more with subjects in environmental portraits.

Photography self portrait:

I chose these photos because I like that you can see the cameras and because I think they capture essences of the subjects, even though there's no eye contact.

I chose these photos because I think they are of good quality. Casual portraits are more formal than environmental portraits but I think these still show you who the subjects are.

For my self portrait I'll be shooting myself in whatever mood I'm in that day.For portraits I'll likely shoot my sister doing something she enjoys, like watching TV. I'll use composition rules to make it look better and lighting that shows my subject, but I'll also try to have fun so that the photos are enjoyable to look like too.
